Sydney Citro
Registered Social Worker, MSW, RSW, RECE
Often telling your story can be challenging…
I support children, teens, and young adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem and body image concerns, school-related stress, relationships, and neurodivergence. I also work closely with parents and families, offering guidance, practical strategies, and a supportive space to work through challenges together.
My approach is warm, compassionate, and age-appropriate, helping you or your child feel safe, understood, and supported while sharing your story.
Experience
I hold a Master of Social Work from Carleton University and am a Registered Social Worker. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care and an Ontario College Diploma in Early Childhood Education, and I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator.
My experience includes supporting children, youth, young adults, and families in childcare, educational settings, child welfare, and community mental health.
Client Focus
I work with children (4+), teens, and young adults, as well as parents and families. I support individuals and families navigating emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting challenges, school concerns, and relationship stress.
I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you in a way that feels respectful, collaborative, and empowering.
Types of Therapy
I use an eclectic, trauma-informed approach that draws from CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Circle of Security Parenting, and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy. I also incorporate play- and art-based approaches to support expression and emotional processing.
My work is strengths-based and attachment-focused, always tailored to your developmental stage, needs, and goals.
Issues I Support
I support clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, emotion regulation, self-esteem and body image concerns, school-related issues, ADHD, neurodivergence, BPD, bullying, intimate partner violence, parenting challenges, and family stress.
More than just my work
Creativity is a big part of who I am. Whether I’m writing, cooking, baking, singing, or experimenting with a new project, I feel most grounded and fulfilled when I’m working with my hands or imagination.
