Sarah Breedon
Registered Psychotherapist
Hi! I’m Sarah, a Registered Psychotherapist, dedicated to helping you regain control and navigate the complexities of life with greater ease and confidence. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands—whether at home, in relationships, or at work—I’m here to help you steer back to a path of peace, connection, and calm.
Professional Background: I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a postgraduate certificate in Addictions and Mental Health from Humber College. With over five years of diverse counseling experience, I have worked in various settings including a live-in treatment center for youth with addiction, a hospital outpatient counselling program, a drop-in center for under-housed individuals, and in private practice.
Therapeutic Approach: My counseling approach is tailored to your unique needs. I meet you where you are and move at your pace, using a trauma-informed lens to ensure a safe and supportive environment. I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Distress Tolerance, Motivational Interviewing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR).
Core Philosophy: I believe in the power of kindness, humor, and curiosity in therapy. My goal is to create a space where we can both show up authentically, exploring the underlying yearnings behind your behaviors and finding productive ways to meet your needs. This approach helps us address not just the symptoms but the root causes of your challenges, without judgment of your past or current coping mechanisms.
Areas of Specialization: My practice focuses on addressing issues such as life transitions, attachment, relationships, setting boundaries, addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-compassion, and addressing the inner critic. I am committed to helping you do the value work necessary to lead a fulfilling life.
A Personal Note: I have a green thumb, I love going for walks in nature, I love the comfort of a fuzzy blanket even in the heat of summer, and I love connecting with friends and family around a board game.
Let’s Connect: If you’re ready to take control of your life again, I’m here to guide you through the process. Book an appointment today, and let’s start this journey together toward healing and self-discovery.
