ON LEAVE
Hello, I’m Nicole Kennedy, and I’m currently on mat leave. If you’re seeking support during my absence, I encourage you to reach out for assistance through the provided contact methods. Your journey towards healing is important, and I want to ensure you have access to the care you need.
About Me: I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). With over a decade of experience in mental health, I have worked with a diverse clientele, including at-risk youth and adults with developmental disabilities and serious mental health challenges.
Therapeutic Approach: I am committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and comfortable space where you can freely explore and address the challenges you face. My approach is eclectic, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, attachment-focused therapy, trauma-informed care, and a strengths-based perspective to tailor a therapeutic plan that meets your individual needs.
Core Philosophy: My practice is rooted in compassion and open-mindedness. I strive to create an environment that fosters security and encouragement, empowering you to recognize your strengths and resilience. My goal is to support you in achieving personal growth and realizing your goals within a supportive therapeutic relationship.
Client Focus: I work with children starting at age 10, adolescents, and adults, helping them navigate issues like depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, self-harm, emotion regulation, and loneliness.
More Than Just Work: I find inspiration in the words of Brené Brown: “You are imperfect, you are wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging.” This belief guides my practice and my interactions with clients, reminding us all of the inherent worth and potential within each of us.
While I’m Away: Please use the contact options available here to connect with alternative support. Your well-being is important, and I look forward to continuing our work together when I return.
