Naomi Krieger
Registered Social Worker Psychotherapist
Greetings, I’m Naomi, and I am deeply dedicated to helping you untangle the web of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be hindering your daily life. Whether you’re grappling with life transitions, loss, or the everyday stressors, understanding these challenges is the first step towards managing them effectively.
Professional Background: I am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the British Columbia College of Social Workers. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto. My professional journey includes significant experience in various hospital settings, providing support and crisis counseling to individuals facing a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, illness, grief, bereavement, aging, caregiver burnout, and psychiatric disorders. My firsthand experience in healthcare equips me with a unique understanding of the pressures and vicarious trauma faced by healthcare professionals.
Therapeutic Approach: My therapeutic practice is informed by a blend of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-focused Therapy. I tailor these approaches to fit your specific needs, strengths, and personal goals, ensuring that our sessions are collaborative, empathetic, and effective.
Core Philosophy: You are the expert of your own life. My role is to provide a safe, open, and non-judgmental space where we can explore your experiences together. I aim to empower you to draw on your strengths and develop strategies that will allow you to regain control and move forward with confidence.
Client Focus: I work primarily with adult individuals, helping them navigate complex emotions and life’s inevitable challenges.
Specialties: I specialize in managing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, chronic illness, health anxiety, grief and loss, caregiver burnout, and trauma.
More Than Just Work:
- I’m an avid documentary watcher, with a particular love for sports narratives.
- Musical soundtracks are often my go-to sing-along choice.
- I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and am always up for a good cappuccino at a local coffee shop.
- Recently, I’ve begun exploring the world of pottery, embracing the therapeutic qualities of making art.
