Mitchell Brant
Registred Social Worker Psychotherapist
Miigwech, I’m Mitchell, a Registered Social Worker Psychotherapist, and I’m here to help you navigate the complexities of your mental health with understanding and compassion. The journey through life’s experiences shapes our perceptions, emotions, and relationships, often leaving us with symptoms like depression, anxiety, and stress. I understand how crucial a safe, non-judgmental space is for expressing and working through these challenges.
Professional Background: I graduated with a Master of Social Work from King’s University College. Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in various mental health settings, working primarily with teens and adults. My practice is informed by a blend of therapeutic modalities tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.
Therapeutic Approach: My therapy approach is trauma and attachment informed, utilizing EMDR to delve into how past experiences influence current mental health issues and to aid in the healing process. Additionally, I incorporate Integrative Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), and Indigenous teachings, which allow for a holistic and personalized treatment plan.
Core Philosophy: Therapy can evoke a spectrum of emotions, from fear to hope, and I welcome all aspects of this journey. With a foundation in self-compassion—which has guided me through my own mental health challenges—I strive to help you find and strengthen your path to emotional well-being and resilience.
Client Focus: I work with individuals including adults and youth (ages 16 and up), helping them to overcome a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, anger management, stress, emotional regulation, grief, loss, and self-esteem problems.
More Than Just Work:
- I find joy in nature, especially watching sunsets over lakes.
- I’m an avid sports enthusiast, particularly soccer, which I fell in love with while growing up in England.
- For relaxation, I enjoy long walks while listening to podcasts, making homemade pizza, and dancing around the house to my favorite tunes.
Let’s Connect: If you’re ready to explore and heal from the impacts of your life experiences in a supportive and understanding environment, I’m here to guide you. Book an appointment today, and let’s start your journey toward healing together.
