Esther Mensah
Registered Social Worker Psychotherapist
I am glad you’re here! I’m Esther, a Registered Social Worker Psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience helping couples and families navigate the complexities of relationships. If you find yourself wondering about the path your relationship has taken, or if you’re struggling to reconnect with your partner amidst the demands of parenting—especially children with complex needs—I’m here to support and guide you back to the love and connection you desire.
Professional Background: I hold both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from King’s University College. My extensive experience has been focused on working with couples, parents, and their families, helping them to rebuild and strengthen their bonds. I bring empathy, warmth, and a deep commitment to every therapeutic relationship.
Therapeutic Approach: My work is grounded in Attachment and Emotionally Focused Therapy, supplemented by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I create a safe, non-judgmental space where couples can explore underlying hurts and needs without fear. Through our sessions, we will delve into attachment styles, emotional dynamics, and conflict resolution strategies to foster deeper understanding and lasting intimacy.
Core Philosophy: The goal of our sessions is to ensure you feel seen, heard, and supported. We will work together to rejuvenate your relationships so you can again find joy in yourself, your partner, and your children. Whether it’s reigniting a lost spark or fostering love and intimacy for the first time, I am dedicated to helping you understand the patterns in your relationship and develop stronger bonds.
Areas of Specialization: I specialize in addressing issues such as anxiety, couples’ challenges, depression, grief/loss, parenting complexities, pre-marital counseling, and stress management. My focus is on providing you with the tools and insights needed for better communication, effective conflict resolution, and a renewed sense of partnership.
A Personal Note: Outside of my professional life, I am a mother to boys and, together with my husband, enjoy the lively pace of family life filled with sports, church events, and social gatherings. We prioritize fun and connection, which reflects my approach to both life and therapy.
Let’s Connect: Taking the step to enhance your relationships is a courageous journey. If you’re ready to start, I am here to offer hope, encouragement, and effective strategies. Book an appointment today, and let’s begin the process of bringing new life to your relationships.
