First impression. I’ve only just completed a consultation and my first visit but through that experience alone I feel a lot more hopeful for my healing and growth for the future.
I also spoke with a coordinator in regards to myself as well as possibly recommending to friends and family and they were able to help recommend who they think would fit best.

What can I expect from my first session?

You can look forward to a welcoming and comforting experience with a therapist who’s a great match for your needs!

We know that taking the first step into therapy might feel a bit overwhelming. It’s completely natural to feel a bit anxious about opening up to someone new. That’s why our therapists are dedicated to making your first session as easy and reassuring as possible.

Before you come in, we’ll send you an email with all the details you need to set up your account and a link to an intake form through our secure booking system, Jane. Filling out this form before your session really helps, as it gives your therapist a good starting point to understand what kind of support you’re looking for and how to make the most of your time together.

Plus, we’ve put together a handy Guide to Starting Therapy and a collection of Therapy Tools just for you!

And if you’re wondering how to get everything set up, check out our quick video guide that walks you through preparing for your first session. We can’t wait to meet you and get started!

How can I determine which kind of therapy is best suited for me?

At your initial consultation here at London Trauma Therapy, we’ll take the time to really get to know you and what you’re hoping to achieve with therapy. It’s all about understanding your unique situation and figuring out together which therapy approach fits best with your life and goals. Sometimes, what might have been suggested to you before isn’t quite the right fit—and that’s totally okay! Your therapist is here to explore the options with you, helping you discover the most effective and comfortable path forward.

Think of this first chat as a friendly, open conversation where you can share openly and learn about the different ways we can support you. We want to make sure that the therapy you choose feels right for you, personalized to meet your needs. We’re here not just to guide you, but to listen and adapt our approach based on what will help you the most…

Is a free 15-minute consultation available before I book a session?

A complimentary consultation call  is a fantastic way to connect with a therapist and get a feel for their style and approach before diving into therapy.

This is your chance to share a little about yourself, what’s bringing you to therapy, and ask any important questions you might have for your potential therapist.

While there’s no formal limit to how many Meet-and-Greets you can book, we recommend keeping it to two or three. We know that too many choices can sometimes be overwhelming, and our Care Team is here to help guide you through the process.

If you’d like help matching with a therapist, you can fill out our quick matching questionnaire, and we’ll offer a personalized recommendation.

If you have a consultation call booked, here is a handy video on how to best prepare for your call in order to make the most of your time!

How can I choose the right therapist at your clinic?

The most important factor for success in therapy is finding a therapist who feels like the right fit. Here’s how we help you do just that.

Research shows that the key to effective therapy isn’t necessarily the therapist’s approach, background, or even their years of experience. The real game-changer is whether you feel connected and understood by your therapist.

Here are some signs that you’ve found the right fit:

  • You feel heard and understood.
  • You don’t feel judged, ashamed, or embarrassed.
  • The focus is on you and your life.
  • Your therapist introduces new perspectives that resonate with you.
  • The pace feels comfortable and suited to your needs.

Our Care Team is dedicated to helping you find that perfect match. We take the time to connect with you one-on-one to get a sense of what kind of support you’re looking for. By filling out our Questionnaire, you can share your preferences and let us know what kind of therapist would be the best fit for you. It’s your therapy journey, and your voice matters in choosing the therapist who feels right for you.

At London Trauma Therapy, we have a diverse team of professionals with a wide range of experiences and specialties, ready to meet your unique needs.

Not sure where to start? Our Care team is here to help guide you through your options! Feel free to reach out to us at info@londontraumatherapy.com, or call us at 226-777-7702. We’re here to make sure you feel supported every step of the way.
